Preserving, Protecting, and Passing a legacy starts with a plan that accurately captures your goals and wishes. Whether crafting an estate plan to transfer your legacy to the next generation, or working to protect assets and help you or a loved one prepare for nursing home care, you need an attorney with experience to help you capture your plan for your unique family situation.

When working with Elder Law clients, Aric works to  alleviate stress by helping clients develop a plan to provide for their long-term care needs, while preserving their assets to supplement their quality of life and pass to future generations.

His motivation is to find solutions for clients who are preparing for future life transition and care needs or are in need of immediate qualification for medical assistance benefits.
Most recently, Aric has helped:
  • Create revocable trust plans for families to protect their children's inheritance from divorce and other creditors
  • Help a family with the probate process after the death of a loved one
  • Qualify clients for Family Care so they could receive in-home care benefits and pay for an assisted living facility
  • Qualify clients for Medicaid so they could receive nursing home care
  • Assist a trustee with trust administration duties
  • Preserve proceeds from sale of mother’s home so she could maintain her medical assistance benefits and quality of life
  • Pass down a second-generation family cabin to the third generation without crippling tax consequences
  • Utilize a special needs trust to preserve assets and maintain medical assistance benefits
  • Create a custom power of attorney to ensure a client’s plans would be carried out if they were unable to do so.

Aric advises clients in the areas of elder law, including use of irrevocable trusts for asset protection, medical assistance eligibility, and special needs trusts. In addition,

Aric also counsels clients on estate and trust planning, taxation, powers of attorney, probate, and trust administration.

Aric is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only organization accredited by the American Bar Association for the certification of elder law attorneys in the United States. He is active within the professional elder law community as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), as well as Wisconsin’s State NAELA chapter (WINAELA). He is also a member of the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Aric and his wife, Molly, are busy parents, proud of their seven children. When not chasing after his children, Aric likes to spend time playing board games, hiking, fishing, and laughing with them.
