Drawing upon her Master of Social Work degree and her significant leadership experience in Human Services and Public Health, Jessica’s career in the public sector prior to practicing law enhances her knowledge of available resources, community contacts, and “how the system works.”  One of Jessica’s core beliefs is the importance of connections and community.  To this end, as a lifelong Marshfield resident, she works diligently to cultivate meaningful relationships with her clients and community partners.  She listens to her client’s stories, works to understand their perspective, helps to connect them with local resources, and ultimately implements a wholistic plan to meet their goals.

Jessica’s extensive expertise in supporting families navigating mental health challenges, substance abuse crisis, and domestic violence allows her to bring a unique perspective to the table.  Jessica’s approach to law is rooted in empathy and clear communication.  She prioritizes transparency, ensuring clients fully understand their options and potential solutions — without relying on confusing legal jargon.

At Grosskopf & Burch, Jessica’s practice is devoted to estate planning and elder law where she continues her commitment to advocacy, focusing on the unique needs of her elderly and special needs clients.  Her specialized practice focuses on complex issues such as special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts for asset protection, Medical Assistance/Medicaid eligibility planning, and ongoing Medical Assistance/Medicaid benefit consultation.  Jessica’s approach is grounded in active listening and compassionate support, helping families make informed decisions that align with their needs, wishes, and goals.  In addition, she offers comprehensive guidance on powers of attorney, probate, and trust administration.

Located in Marshfield, Jessica most recently has helped clients across Wisconsin with the following:
  • Creating an irrevocable trust plan for a family to preserve their family home and hunting land from the costs of long-term care
  • Qualifying clients for Inclusa (Family Care) benefits to keep their loved one at home with benefits to pay for in-home care
  • Helping a family through the probate process after the death of a loved one
  • Creating a revocable trust plan for a family who was concerned about who would care for their children if they couldn't
  • Preserving an inheritance from a family member so the individual could maintain his Medical Assistance/Medicaid benefits and continuity of care
  • Drafting custom power of attorney documents to avoid guardianship and give direction to the agent based upon a client's wishes
  • Qualifying clients for Wisconsin's Nursing Home Medical Assistance/Medicaid benefits
  • Renewing a client's Medical Assistance/Medicaid benefits for continued payment of their care in a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF)
  • Working with a trustee through the trust administration process
  • Qualifying clients for Lakeland Care (Family Care) to assist with payment of their care at an assisted living facility
  • Utilizing a special needs trust to preserve assets and maintain Medical Assistance benefits

Jessica, her husband, Ryan, and their family, are actively involved in the Marshfield community.  You will often see them "out and about" at community and school events, fundraisers, or just the grocery store.  As a family they also like gardening, spending time outdoors with their animals, sitting around the fire pit, traveling, and fishing.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. ~ Proverbs 13:22
